Adventure in the Woods
Adventure in The Woods holiday sessions are open to all children from 3 – 11 years of age, whether or not they attend Kindergarten. These are full day sessions, beginning at 8:30am and ending at 4:15pm. Single and multiple sessions are available.
We pride ourselves in allowing children to be children in a natural environment, giving them the freedom to explore and play at their own pace. With this in mind our sessions are largely unplanned and led by the children who attend that day. Adults take a supportive role in this process, enabling children to have access to the resources they need. We always include all children in our risk assessment at the start of the day as we feel that this is a vital part of keeping children safe during their time in the woods.
A typical day at Adventure in the Woods might include:
- den building
- exploring nature
- seasonal forest crafts
- fire lighting
- exploring the wider woods
- enjoying food cooked on the camp fire
All sessions £35 per child (£30 for siblings) including afternoon snack. Children are required to bring their own water bottle, packed lunch and a snack for the morning.
Children are also required to come dressed appropriately for the weather and season. This includes long sleeves, long trousers, sturdy shoes or boots/wellies and waterproofs, even in the summer. If your child could bring a rucksack with them, this will enable them to carry their own lunch, water bottle and any spare clothing. Please refer to our kit list under ‘General Information’ LINK
