Kit List
General information
Clothing and Kit
Due to being an outside setting, the likelihood of your child getting wet and muddy whilst having fun and learning is quite high. It is really important that they stay warm and dry in the woods. To enable them to play happily without worrying about ruining their clothes or getting wet, we advise you send your child along in the appropriate clothing. We would recommend the following:
- long sleeved top
- wool jumper during winter months
- base layers for winter (merino wool are perfect but cheaper alternatives also work well)
- long trousers/leggings (tucked into socks as this helps prevent ticks). NO jeans or tights.
- wellies for winter/sturdy shoes or walking boots for dry weather
Please ensure that their wellies are big enough for them to wear a thick woollen pair of socks and still have room for wriggling their toes.
Waterproof mittens e.g ski or woollen mittens will help keep hands warm.
Each child that attends our settings should bring a rucksack containing the following items:
- at least one complete change of clothing
- waterproof jacket and trousers all year round
- hat, scarf and gloves in winter
- sun hat, sun screen in the summer
- water bottle
